Synopsis:
Usop Sontorian is a Malaysian comic series which has been adapted into the country's first locally made half-hour-episode animated cartoon series which was aired on RTM1 from 1996 to 1998, created by Ujang and Kamn Ismail from Kharisma Pictures (now MOY Productions). Currently, Kamn Ismail is the Managing Director Of Quest Animations (M) Sd. Bhd. (www.quest-animation.com)
The story of Usop Sontorian was about the village life of Usop and his friends such as Abu, Dol, Ah Kim, Vellu and Singh in Kampung Parit Sonto, not far from the town of Ayer Hitam, Johor; hence the name Sontorian came from. The main message of the series was basically to promote unity and harmonious relationships between all races in Malaysia.
